The Boscobell

Inspired by the beautiful Boscobel Estate, this elegant room box is fronted by a façade with a pediment and columns. The eye is then led past a short entryway through a decorative archway into a cozy room where a fireplace is bracketed by two doorways, one leading off into a suggestion of another room. The left side of the room has gracefully arched windows overlooking the Hudson. Marble floor. The ceiling includes both a center medallion and decorative crown molding. 12 volt general illumination lighting is included, and you will be invited to purchase optional sconces and a chandelier. This project measures 12"high x 13" wide x 15" deep.

Le Jardin Secret

Join us for the creation of our Country French inspired Dining Room and Butler's Pantry. The Dining Room features a wood parquet floor, stained beadboard wainscoting, a bay window, a faux limestone corner fireplace, and a ceiling with heavy beams. The Butler's pantry features a wood plank floor, stained cabinetry and a faux marble countertop.

During the first two days, students will construct the interior, which will include learning a technique for creating faux limestone. The third day will be devoted to finishing details and electrification.

Students will build the entire setting in an unfinished box, allowing them to customize their own exterior and frame. Frames will be available for purchase during the class.

All materials will be provided to create the room as pictured.
Items not included: window treatments, furniture and accessories

This workshop will require some pre-class homework and a basic toolbox including a cutting mat, an X-acto knife and blades, a scissor miter cutter with sharp blade, a metal miter box with tall sides and sharp, fine blade saw, a pair small sharp scissors, a corkbacked ruler, a mechanical pencil, a standard size hammer, phillips screwdriver, needlenose pliers, work light and extension cord and several small clamps.
